This is the first finding of material extracted by the illicit use of natural resources, for the year 2021. This crime hit forests surrounding National Natural Parks.

In the framework of a joint military operation carried out by troops of the land and river component of the Joint Task Force Omega, it was possible to find 1,063 wooden slats, in the sector Playa Alta, Municipality of Puerto Concordia, Meta.

Military units of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.32 and the Land Operations Battalion no.7, by means of additional supplementary and Environmental Protection maneuvers, find 22.32 cubic meters of wood, equivalent to 2,200 kilograms and 0,022 tons.

The Environmental Authority of the Department of Meta, Corporaci贸n para el Desarrollo Sostenible del 脕rea de Manejo Especial La Macarena, CORMACARENA, is informed of this finding.

The illicit use of Natural Resources is defined in Article 328 of the Colombian Penal Code, contributing to the International Convention on Biological biodiversity, which was signed by 150 government leaders at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, perpetrated to promote sustainable development in the countries.
