This special activity lasted two days and provided medical assistance, recreational activities and security to these people of the south of the department de Tolima.
The work of the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army in all corners of the department of Tolima is visible not only providing security, but in the same way carrying out activities for development. Thus, the Infantry Battalion No.17 General Domingo Caicedo, accompanied by the Arturo Calle Foundation, the Government of Tolima, the Mayor's Office of Chaparral, the Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization, Cointrasur, the Comprehensive operation Battalion of the Fe in Colombia program and the Colombian Aerospace Force, backed the Development Support Activity that reached the populated center of San Jos茅 de las Hermosas, in the municipality of Chaparral, in the south of Tolima.
During the weekend, care was provided in medical consultation, psychology, dentistry, optometry, speech therapy and physiotherapy, contributing to improving the quality of life of civilians. In addition, there was space for recreational activities for children, such as balloon twisting, recreational activities and performances of musical artists, providing a time of recreation for more than 850 inhabitants.
This activity was possible thanks to the coordinated work of the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade with the institutions, whose sole purpose is to reach these remote areas to remind the communities that they are not alone and that the military forces are there to serve them, not only safeguarding their lives, but in the same way generating development and well-being.
