In a military intelligence work, soldiers of the Twenty-Seventh Rainforest Brigade found grenades with the capacity to destroy armored vehicles.
Within the framework of military operations against the phenomena of criminality in the south of the country, framed in the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, troops of the Twenty-Seventh Rainforest Brigade found, an illegal hiding place, where criminals of the so-called Comandos de Frontera hid 51 improvised explosive devices type grenade, 120 millimeters, and other 51 explosive devices type balloon, which were ready to be used against the Military Forces and the inhabitants of Putumayo.
This military operation was carried out in a rural area of the municipality of Villagarzón, the place where the troops arrived, which found in the middle of the thick vegetation the dangerous devices hidden underground, camouflaged to prevent their finding.
In addition, members of the Military Forces found 2 rudimentary mortars, 100 7.62 caliber cartridges, an AK-47 rifle magazine, military accessory material and various items of interest to military intelligence at the site.
According to military intelligence work, alias Caballo, a member of this illegal group, would own the dangerous weaponry, which was destroyed by experts in explosives and demining of the Sixth Division.
Through this important result of the military operation, the military Forces continue to weaken the criminal operations of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the south of the country, damaging their logistical and criminal networks and providing the conditions of security, defense and well-being of the communities.
