The operations to counter environmental crimes are constant in this area of the department.
Under the guidelines of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Airborne Infantry Battalion N° 31 Rifles, of the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, and the Attorney General's Office, intervened an illegal mining production unit in the Villanueva sector, of the municipality of Puerto Libertador, department of Córdoba.
At the site, the authorities disabled a diver-type dredger, two engines and a classifier, mechanized elements that allegedly would be at the service of the Rubén Darío Ávila Substructure of the organized armed group GAO Clan del Golfo.
With the destruction of this machinery, the illicit activities of this GAO are hit by more than 1000 million pesos, corresponding to the extraction of 4100 grams of gold per month, directly impacting the income generated by this illegal activity.
In the same way, through this result it is sought to counteract the damage caused by the operation of the machines to the lands and water sources of this area of the department of Córdoba.
