As part of Operation Perseo, the Third Division of Colombian National Army deployed more than 400 soldiers with special resources to strengthen the operation against organized armed groups that commit crimes in the villages of Huisitó, Playa Rica, Juntas, Fondas and Pandiguando, municipality of El Tambo, department of Cauca.
The members of the Military Forces, highly trained in combat techniques and tactics and operations in urban and rural terrains, complement other units with differential training, with the aim of neutralizing threats that disturb the safety and well-being of the inhabitants in this area of the department.
As part of this operation, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters of the Army Aviation were used to carry out strategic movements, as well as unmanned aircraft, signal jammers and specialized Explosive and Demolition equipment (EXDE), which will strengthen the resources of the military operation in the sector.
The operations are carried out jointly with the Colombian Aerospace Force and coordinated with the National Police, with the purpose of hitting the logistical and criminal networks of illegal armed groups, as well as their illicit activities.
