Colombian national Navy redoubles its efforts in the Lower Calima region

arc-bajo_calima.png

The mandatory preventive isolation decreed by the National Government has not been an impediment for the Colombian Navy to continue guaranteeing the safety of the inhabitants in the Pacific region, through permanent operations against the Organized Armed Groups.

Recently, the people of Bajo Calima provided information about alleged threats made by criminals of the Organized Armed Group ELN, who seek to constrain and instill fear in the community, and especially the workers of Buenaventura.

Facing the threats, the Navy infantry Brigade No.2 increased the units in the sector, with troops of the Navy infantry Battalion No.24, to continue guaranteeing the protection of the people, so that they can continue with their normal daily activities.

In the same way, aircraft of the Pacific Aeronaval Group and the Air Combat Command No. 7 carry out overflights in the area to monitor and guard the inhabitants of Bajo Calima region. Similarly, intelligence efforts were redoubled to find the whereabouts of the individuals who are trying to instill terror among the communities.
