Colombian Navy Cadets take military academic program in Germany

Cadets Catalina Ru铆z Rodr铆guez and Luis Camilo L贸pez Osorio are in Germany since October 1, 2019, in the frame of the operations to strengthen cooperation between the Navy of Germany and the Navy of Colombia in support of training. The process will end in November 2022. After this the students will return to the Naval Cadet School Almirante Padilla as Lieutenant of Corvette and homologate subjects to obtain their degree in Naval Science and professional complementation, in the period for this in the new model of Education of the Navy of Colombia (MEDAR).

 

The training program in Germany has two phases, the first related to German language learning, Level 3, at the military forces Language Institute in the city of H眉erth and the second phase of naval Training begins in the city of Flensburg at the M眉rwik Naval Academy. The outstanding performance in the first phase, has led them to the benefit of conducting an extra level to be able to achieve the certification in German.

 

This is an environment to share and know an ancient culture such as the German culture, while giving young people the possibility to share their naval training enriching their personal, technical and professional knowledge, for their future as Naval Officers. In addition, they share experiences with cadets from other nations such as Mongolia, South Korea, Georgia, Iraq, Kosovo, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Mozambique, Mali, among others, who are carried outing the initial language phase to continue their course in the different training schools in Germany.
