In the municipality of La Tagua, Putumayo, Colombian Navy troops are carrying out intense humanitarian assistance efforts benefiting more than 100 families who lost their belongings and part of their houses because of the flooding caused by the Caquet谩 River overflow in the region.

The navy men of the Navy River Battalion No.33, attached to the Southern Naval Force, acted in a timely manner, helping to evacuate the inhabitants to the closest and safest shelters designated by the municipal authorities, and in turn, together with the community, recovered some material belongings and merchandise of the commercial premises of the municipality.

The Naval Institution continues to participate actively in the Unified Command posts and Risk Management Committees, in order to coordinate efforts, deploying our human and logistical Resources to provide support for this emergency and safeguard the lives of the inhabitants of Putumayo.

The Colombian Navy will continue to work for the well-being of the community in the southeast of the country, providing humanitarian assistance to thousands of families during this rainy season and thus guaranteeing security in the region.
