Colombian Navy destroyed a campground used as a collection center for the shipment of narcotics

In the Department of Choc贸, the Colombian Navy reaffirms its decisiveness against the different agents that generate violence and which try to use the rivers as mobility routes for the trafficking of illicit substances. In the Bajo Baud贸, a campground, in which drug trafficking organizations hid communication equipment, a boat and fuel, was destroyed.

The material found was found in the sector known as El Firme, general area of the Guineal, where troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No. 22, carried out search and area control operations. At the site, which had the capacity to house up to ten individuals, were seized 500 gallons of fuel, three communication radios, three satellite equipment, a GPS, a boat and two rectangular packages containing one kilogram of marijuana.

The site would apparently be used as a collection center, where drug traffickers, in association with the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, were planning to ship illicit substances to countries in Central and North America, reported the Colonel of Navy Infantry, Wisner Paz Palomeque, Commander of the Navy Brigade No. 2.

The material was taken to Pizarro, municipality of Bajo Baud贸, to be put into custody of the authorities.

This year, the Pacific Naval Force has destroyed 45 campgrounds and found more than 384 communications equipment that would be used by these outlaw groups for illicit activities.
