The Colombian Navy achieved the discovery of 500 gallons of illegal fuel, in a search and river control operation, carried out by the Amazonas Coast Guard Command, of the Naval Force of the South, in the sector of La Playita, on the Amazonas River.
At the time of the search on the rudimentary boat, the crew who transported the fuel, did not have the documentation required for the transport of this controlled material.
During the operation, the capture of the two crew members of the motorboat, of Peruvian nationality, was made for the crime of favoring the smuggling of fuel. The material was put into custody of the authority.
The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out operations to maintain control of river communication ways and deny the use of these spaces by criminal organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Amazon.
