Checkpoints at sea conducted by units of the Colombian Navy through the Caribbean Naval Force, led to the finding of about 34 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were being transported on board a go fast boat through Colombian Caribbean waters.

With information from Naval Intelligence and the National Police, Coast Guard units detect the suspicious ship in the Gulf of Urabá subregion starting the maritime interception operation of the boat, which upon detecting the Colombian Navy Units escaped to the coast of the municipality of Damaquiel, in San Juan de Urabá, in Antioquia.

The military carried out the search for the boat abandoned by its crew, finding a sack that stored inside 30 rectangular packages of the illicit substance.

The material and the boat were transported to the Urabá Coast Guard Station, where staff of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police and intelligence, DIJIN, conducted the preliminary identification test whose result was positive for cocaine hydrochloride with an estimated price of more than one million dollars if marketed in Internationally.
