The Colombian Navy, in coordination with units of the National Police, find cocaine hydrochloride in the rudder compartment of the tanker Madison, flag of the Republic Of The Marshall Islands, which was in the area of tankers anchoring, in Cartagena, Bolivar.

This finding was made possible during an underwater inspection by divers of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, in which three suspicious bags were detected secured in the compartment known as the rudder Wick. Military personnel proceeded to cut the ropes and then transported them to the Coast Guard facilities in Cartagena for detailed inspection.

In the inspection, 69 rectangular packages with physical characteristics similar to narcotic substances were found by troops. The judicial authorities carried out the approved preliminary identification tests –PIPH-, leaving positive result for 82 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. No arrests were made during the operation. This mode of drug transport is referred to as contamination.
