Colombian Navy finds container contaminated with cocaine in Buenaventura

cogfm-armada-de-colombia-incauta-cocaina-en-buenaventura-08.jpg

In international trade security operations in the Colombian Pacific, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the port authorities and the National Police, detected and seized a shipment of 160 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride inside a container that was destined for Europe.

With information from Naval Intelligence troops of the Colombian Navy carried out the physical inspection of the container that was in the Port of Buenaventura, using dogs that detected five black briefcases with 160 rectangular packages, similar to those used by drug trafficking organizations to send narcotic substances abroad.

Once the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test – PIPH, was carried out on the substance found inside the packages, by the National Police, it was determined that it was 160 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

This shipment of narcotics exceeds 9.6 million dollars in the international illegal market, money that thanks to the decisive operation of the Military Forces will not enter the finances of criminal groups at the service of drug trafficking.

The Colombian Navy ratifies its commitment in the fight against drug trafficking and will continue to carry out coordinated operations with the different public and private institutions, with the aim of denying the use of maritime communication roads to organizations and individuals at the service of transnational crimes. In the same way, it invites people to report any suspicious action or criminal activity to the lines 123, 146 and 147, available 24 hours a day.
