It is estimated that this shipment would cost more than US$ 9 million on the illegal international market.

The Colombian Navy, in a coordinated operation with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office and the National Police, discovered 269 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were hidden in a container at a port facility in Cartagena, Bolívar.

Intelligence information of the Colombian Navy established and alert about suspicious movements with heavy machinery in a warehouse in the industrial sector of El Bosque in Cartagena, so troops proceeded to carry out the coordination for the procedures of inspection of containers.

The crew of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station and the Navy Infantry Battalion No.12, together with officials of the Prosecutor's Office and members of the National Police Military Forces, reported the finding of the container that was apparently contaminated with narcotics.

During the inspection, sacks with ceramic glue were found by troops, hidden inside, troops found 12 sacks with 270 rectangular packages, which when submitted to the Approved Preliminary Identification Tests they left positive result for 269 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

During the operation no arrests occurred, the material was put into custody of the authorities.

This operation against drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean, represents losses of more than nine million dollars to their financial structures; so troops prevented the sale of 672 thousand doses of cocaine on the illegal international market.
