Colombian Navy finds contraband merchandise valued at about 46 million pesos

In the permanent operation to ensure the legal use of the sea, the Colombian Navy in a search and control operation, managed to find contraband material, corresponding to 3,221 pairs of shoes, which were transported in the ship “Aguadulce” traveling from Panama, in the bay of the municipality of Turbo, in the department of Antioquia.

 

The contraband cargo was found during an inspection carried out by personnel of the Urabá Coast Guard Station, which found 1,773 shoes of different brands and 1,448 pairs of flip flops, the value of this cargo is about 46 million Colombian pesos, according to the information provided by the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (Dian).

 

The merchandise that was transported from Panama by eight Colombians, was confiscated for not presenting the documentation proving its origin, as well as the import manifest issued by the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs, this is institution is precisely which receives the contraband goods in custody, to carry out the corresponding confiscation procedure.
