During a surveillance, interdiction and river security operation in the municipality of Puerto Legu铆zamo, in the department of Putumayo, Colombian Navy Units, organic of the Southern Naval Force, found 935 gallons of gasoline that were being transported aboard two Araguana-type boats that were sailing on waters of the Putumayo river.
The material was transported by individuals who did not present the proper documentation for the transport of substances subject to special control by the National Council of Narcotic Drugs.
During the operation no arrests were made.
The fuel found was put into custody of the authority.
The Colombian Navy, through its Units in the rivers of the south of the country, will continue carrying out operations to guarantee compliance with the existing regulations for the transportation of fuel, and invites the community to denounce criminal organizations that are the service of contraband and drug traffickers who commit crimes in the Colombian Amazonas region.
