With this finding, the distribution of more than three million doses of narcotic drugs was prevented.
In the course of three maritime interception operations carried out simultaneously on the coast of the department of Valle del Cauca, Colombian Navy units intercept three ships carrying more than 1.8 tons of narcotics. This blow prevented the trafficking, circulation and consumption of 3,170,092 doses of narcotic substances in countries of the region. It is estimated that the finances of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 30, were beaten at about $ 45 million.
Intelligence information of the Colombian Navy and the permanent deployment of sea control operations carried out by the Rapid Reaction Units of the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station, led to the detection of a Go Fast boat manned by three individuals, when they moved suspiciously, in the central Pacific. After several minutes of pursuit, it was possible to intercept the boat, in which were found by troops 623 kilograms of cocaine and 636 kilograms of marijuana, communication equipment and 1,195 gallons of fuel.
In parallel, in the second maritime interception operation in the same area, a boat manned by two individuals was intercepted. During the inspection, the crew of the Coast Guard Unit detected a double bottom in the boat where 260 kilograms of cocaine were hidden.
Complementing the operations effort, the interception of the third boat took place minutes earlier; apparently, it had sailed from a sector near Buenaventura, in which two individuals were transporting 342 kilograms of cocaine under the double-bottom modality.
The three boats, the narcotics found and the colombians, were transported to the coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, where officials of the Technical staff of the Prosecutor's Investigation, tested the substance whose result was 1,225 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 636 kilograms of marijuana.
The seven men were arrested and put into custody of the authorities, who face charges for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
