With this finding, more than six million dollars stopped entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean.
199 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops aboard a boat, in development of an operation against drug trafficking in a port facility in Puerto Bol铆var, in the department of La Guajira.
The crew of the Coast Guard post of Puerto Bol铆var, attached to the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station, arrived at these facilities after receiving a report a boat that had as its final destination the city of Guij贸n in Spain. The individual, upon being discovered by the passengers of the boat, would have thrown himself into the water.
Immediately, the authorities proceeded to carry out the inspection of the boat, finding inside one of the eight suitcases with 200 rectangular packages similar to those used by drug trafficking organizations for the transport of narcotics.
The material was Tested by the Criminal Investigation Directorate and INTERPOL - SIJ脥N of Riohacha, to identify 199 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
This important operation of the Caribbean Naval Force prevented more than six million dollars from entering the finances of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in this region of the country. In addition, troops prevented about 500 thousand doses of cocaine from being marketed on the streets of the world. The material was put into custody of the authorities.
With this result, 42 tons of cocaine hydrochloride have been found by the Colombian Navy in the Colombian Caribbean during 2022, dealing a decisive blow to drug trafficking organizations, which have stopped receiving 1420 million dollars in their criminal structures.
