The control units in the Caribbean Sea led by units of the Colombian Navy, found 2,875 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 111 kilograms of coca base paste, which were being transported on board two Go Fast boats through waters of the Gulf of Urab谩 subregion.
The first finding occurred eight nautical miles north of Punta Caribana-Necocl铆 (Antioquia), where surface units and coastguards, guided by Naval Intelligence and the technical investigation Corps-CTI - of the Attorney General's Office, detect and intercept a Go Fast boat manned by three Colombians.
During the inspection of the boat, the military revealed that the structure had been modified to hide 182 rectangular and 90 Oval packages of illicit substances inside.
In the second event, units attached to the Caribbean Naval force with intelligence, conducted a maritime interception of a go Fast boat five nautical miles west of Punta Caribana - Necocl铆 (Antioquia). The boat, which was manned by four Colombians and one Panamanian, carried inside 109 bags that stored 2,693 rectangular packages.
During both operations, troops of the Infantry Battalion no. 47 of the XVII Brigade of the National Army were effectively deployed overland to prevent possible escape attempts.
The material found was transported to the dock of the coast Guard Station of Urab谩, where officials of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) Identified 2,875 kg of cocaine hydrochloride and 111 kilograms of coca, which is estimated to have a cost of close to 97 million dollars in the illegal market of the US.
