During the weekend, in the framework of the Unified operation Acceleration Plan – PAAU (in spanish), an activity was carried out where the inhabitants of the locality of Kennedy, especially of the Portal of the Americas, met in the Dindalito Park, in the Bella Vista neighborhood, to access the Resources of Comprehensive Action of the Military Forces and Police Prevention, as well as the State services and the different benefits that public and private institutions put at the service of this community.
With the purpose to continue to contribute to the economic recovery, institution-building, trust-building, outreach and work with the communities, the Minister of National Defence, Diego Molano Aponte, led the eighteenth activity of the Acceleration Plan of Unified operation - PAAU, in the locality of Kennedy, confirming the commitment to the Policy of the National Government of Colombia in Peace with Legality.
The Ministry of National Defense, the National Army, the National Navy, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police continue to make progress in strengthening institutions to generate transformations and development in the territories; along with institutions and partners such as the National Service of Learning SENA, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing – ICBF, the Department for Social Prosperity – DPS, Colombian Civil Defence – DCC, the thirteenth Brigade, Professional Officers of the reserve, the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development, the Group of Humanitarian Assistance for the Demobilized, along with the locality Hall Kennedy.
During this activity, there were more than 9,729 services to the community which is benefiting from services in general medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, psychology, legal consultation, veterinary medicine, vaccination, immigration information, information for joining in the Military Forces and National Police, assistance to women victims of violence, Youth in Action, Elder Colombia, assistance to early childhood, hairdressers services, among others.
In the same way, thanks to the management of the Operations Battalion of Comprehensive Action and the Command of Comprehensive Action and Development, children, adolescents and adults received more than 1,300 presents including balls, toys, speakers and bicycles.
In addition, promoting the entrepreneurship of rural producers in the central zone of the country supported by the Fe in Colombia program of the National Army, as well as the entrepreneurship of local merchants who complemented the peasant market of PAAU, the sales amounted to $2,100,000 pesos with the commercialization of their products.
Finally, people enjoyed recreational, cultural and recreational activities, where in the same way the Minister of Defense Diego Molano Aponte, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defense Sandra Álzate, awarded the winners of the first and second place of the football tournament held by local youth and the Mobile Anti – Riot Squad-ESMAD, as well as the winners of the categories of skateboard and BMX; act that highlighted how the Military Forces leaves joy and teachings in different spaces of healthy recreation for young people, while contributing to the safety of the entire community; people who are in the same way in this Activity, showed support and appreciation to the thousands of men and women who every day work and give his life, if necessary, for the wellbeing of all Colombians.
