Santander. In the Operation Agamemnon, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Magdalena Medio Prosecutor's Office, captured six individuals who apparently would be part of a money counterfeiting group that committed crimes in the City of Barrancabermeja, in the department of Santander.

Through searches in different sectors of the petroleum municipality, the military could find machines and items used to commit this crime, such as printers, burning plates, reams of paper money, computer equipment with graphic designs for the production of banknotes of 20 and 100 dollars; this material would be used for the manufacture in inkjet impressions, equipment and accessories for the finishes.

It was in the same way possible to find $ 701,400 dollars of which $ 1,400 were in the final manufacturing process and 700,000 were in their initial phase. In the same way, 70 million Colombian pesos troops found in banknotes of different denominations.

It is estimated that this group had been carrying out this illegal activity for almost a year, with a monthly production close to 200 million pesos.

Those captured must face charges for the crime of forgery and trafficking of national and foreign currency; they were put into custody of the authority.
