cocgfm-logo-mind_0.jpg

Defense Minister Holmes Trujillo emphasized that, once again, drug trafficking is the cause of the massacres and killings of social leaders in the country, referring to the violent events that occurred in Caucasia, Antioquia, on Tuesday morning.

"The new commander of the VII Division, General Juvenal Diaz Mateus, immediately travels to Caucasia to strengthen the work of the Military Forces, the work of the Army and there will be more work of the Police”, he said.

And he emphasized: “I call on all Colombian people to join in a great national crusade against drug trafficking, because these confrontations alter the tranquility and coexistence of these areas”, explained Minister Trujillo after presiding over the transfer of command in the VII Division of the National Army.

Finally, he said that the backdrop behind the massacres that are happening in the country, is drug trafficking, so it is essential to eradicate quickly with all possible tools.

"We must do the sprinkling complying with all the rules of the Court, complying with the environmental legislation on forced and voluntary eradication, making plantation substitution, carrying out alternative programs and making a frontal attack against every link within the criminal chain”, the Minister of Defense concluded.
