Through this finding, the entry of 48 thousand dollars to drug trafficking organizations and the distribution of 2,500 doses of narcotics on the streets of the world were prevented.
As part of a maritime control and security operation, the Colombian Navy managed to intercept a ship, crewed by two individuals of Colombian nationality, in which they were transporting a ton of cocaine hydrochloride in Colombian Pacific waters.
The operation took place 140 nautical miles from Bahía Solano, when units of the Pacific Naval Force identified a ship sailing in the area suspiciously. Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR of the Bahia Solano Coast Guard Station, moved to the area to carry out the respective procedures.
When checking the ship, the Colombian Sailors found two Colombian nationality individuals, 37 sacks of different sizes and colors with characteristics similar to illicit substances and three barrels with fuel.
The two individuals, the boat named Vamos con Dios and the material found, were taken to the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, where officials of the Investigative corps of the Prosecutor's Office, CTI, conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test – PIPH, determining that it was a ton of cocaine hydrochloride and 68 gallons of fuel.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal procedures.
