This individual would be responsible for the kidnapping of 21 people of a medical mission in Mapiripán - Meta and would be a link for the structures who perpetrate drug trafficking, establishing international routes for the Eastern Plains.
Troops of the National Army, in development of the Heroes de la Libertad Bicentenary Campaign Plan and Operation José María Córdova, in the municipality of Tillava, Puerto Gaitán, Meta, arrested the individual accused of being the main ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 39, known as Dumar.
This result was due to the follow-up carried out by military intelligence in coordination with the Police on this armed structure that commits crimes in the rural area of the municipalities of Mapiripán and Puerto Gaitán, Meta, on the sectors of Puerto Siare, Alto Tillava, Planchón d’Iteviare, Esperanza, La 13, and Puerto Trujillo.
At the time of the arrest, alias Dumar was caught when traveling in a truck on the road that leads to the village Tillava, from the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, a place where the troops had installed a checkpoint that led to the arrest this ringleader and five persons more, who apparently would conduct security tasks for this group.
During the inspection on the vehicle, four nine-millimeter pistols, two 38-caliber revolvers, a traumatic weapon, 10 kilograms of coca paste, a laptop, six cell phones and pamphlets alluding to Structure 39 were found by troops. Those arrested and the material were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the crimes of illegal possession of weapons, illegal drug trafficking and association to commit crimes.
This man would have been part of the GAO-r-10, on the sector of the State of Apure, in Venezuela, under the command of alias Arturo, main leader of the illegal group, who is part of his security group.
Alias Dumar would have participated in different illicit actions, including the kidnapping of 21 people of a medical mission, in the town of Rincón del Indio, Mapiripán-Meta; and the forced conscription of three people in Puerto Gaitán.
He would in the same way be in charge of collecting extortion money in the region, and being the liaison with other illegal structures of drug trafficking, in order to illegally market narcotics outside the country.
Thanks to this operational result, the criminal operations of the GAO-r-39 are neutralized, decimating the combat morale of its members and directly harming their illicit activities, aimed at expansion plans on the territory.
