Thanks to a coordinated work of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Ariari, the Attorney General's Office and the Police, alias Marlon was arrested, who, at the age of 23, had already extensive criminal records.
The military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Groups) were created to carry out operations to dismantle criminal groups that commit crimes that undermine the personal freedom of Colombians.
The arrested man is accused of committing several selective murders, such as that of a well-known athlete of the department of Vichada in 2023, who was in the same way a relative of the mayor of Puerto Carreño. Authorities presume that after this action, he tried to hide in Meta municipalities, being arrested in Granada.
This chief of hitmen of the GAO-r Segunda Marquetalia had an arrest warrant for the crimes of aggravated homicide, manufacture, carrying and trafficking of firearms.
This arrest was possible thanks to the detailed day-to-day monitoring on this individual and the visits he had with family and partners after committing the murder.
