The military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Groups) were created to carry out operations to dismantle criminal groups that commit crimes that undermine the personal freedom of Colombians.
The arrested man is accused of committing several selective murders, such as that of a well-known athlete of the department of Vichada in 2023, who was in the same way a relative of the mayor of Puerto Carre帽o. Authorities presume that after this action, he tried to hide in Meta municipalities, being arrested in Granada.

This arrest was possible thanks to the detailed day-to-day monitoring on this individual and the visits he had with family and partners after committing the murder.
