With the firm purpose of contributing to the well-being and improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable communities of the main Pacific port, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with public and private institutions, led a Development Support Activity in the Bazán Bocana village, a recognized tourism sector of the municipality of Buenaventura, benefiting 3,500 inhabitants.
During this activity, more than 12 tons of humanitarian aid were distributed and the inhabitants received comprehensive health care, social support, entertaining and recreational activities, which strengthened the community's social fabric.
218 people, including Colombian Navy crew members, health professionals, volunteers and logistics personnel, participated in this humanitarian mission. All of them on board the Amphibious Landing Ship ARC Golfo de Tribugá, which sailed 10 nautical miles to reach La Bocana, where they provided medical services in general medicine, physiotherapy, insertion of subdermal implants, nutrition, dentistry, pediatrics, psychology, social work, veterinary and vaccination.
The activity was led by the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura and had the support of the Police of Childhood and Adolescence, Asimov Productions, the Pacific Mission Support Command, Independent Scout Corporation of the Pacific, the Cardio Clinic, LAES, Pacific Naval Patrol and Red-Vida foundations; the Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation of the Valle del Cauca – Indervalle, the Buenaventura Peace Laboratory, the Women for Buenaventura Organization, Profamilia, Rotary International and the University of Valle.

In addition to medical assistance, food baskets, food supplements, school kits, clothing, presents and medicines were distributed during the activity. In the same way, the donation of three treadmills and a video projector was made, elements that will strengthen the learning and recreation processes of the children of the community. The activities in the same way included recreational and cultural play spaces for children, young people and adults, promoting family integration and strengthening community values.
