In military operations in El Catatumbo region, it was found a laboratory of coca base paste belonging to the Organized Armed Group Eln, "Juan Fernando Porras Martínez" Front. The structure was in the village of Guachimán, in the rural area of the municipality of Tibú (Norte de Santander).
In the place, troops found 165 gallons of coca base in process, 495 gallons of liquid precursors and 525 kilos of solid precursors, materials used to manufacture the alkaloid. The precursors found are valued at approximately 77 million pesos.
The National Army invites the community to denounce through the toll-free line 147 any suspicious act that may hit the peace of the region's inhabitants. The authorities will continue in their constitutional mission to provide security and defense conditions for El Catatumbo, carrying out operations to counteract the criminal operations planed by organized armed groups.
