Dismantling of group that perpetrated the commercialization of narcotics in Bogotá

nueve_capturas_por_comercializacion_de_estupefacientes.jpeg

In the framework of the Capital Plan, troops of the Military Police Battalion No. 13, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Office of the Prosecutor, captured nine people belonging to a criminal group called "La 13", who conducted crimes in the locality Puente Aranda in Bogotá.

According to the investigations of the authorities, the individuals traded narcotics in this sector of the capital city, especially in the recreational parks that were their main distribution sites. In the same way they had established a connection with members of the Military Police Battalion no. 13, but thanks to an exhaustive investigation that went ahead for at least three months it was possible to identify and find both the leader, alias "El Loco", and his collaborators. The apprehensions of the nine members of the group were carried out simultaneously in the localities Ciudad Bolívar and Puente Aranda, as well as in the municipality of Soacha in in the department of Cundinamarca.

In their operations, the criminals had begun to work in the illicit business with three soldiers who were serving in the military forces. These three men are part of the detained individuals and now are already out of the institution. All the members of the group were put into custody of the authorities and are currently in prison.
