The Office of Health of the municipality of Vijes, department of Valle de Cauca, received important support by the Colombian Aerospace Force that distributed medical supplies and 1,200 diapers seeking to expand the coverage of health care activities aimed at the most vulnerable inhabitants.
The initiative arises from inter-agency work conducted by the Air Combat Command No. 7 and different allied institutions, which have come together to support the extramural programs that the municipal administration of Vijes is carrying out. The donated supplies will be essential to accompany ethnic communities, older adults and people who do not have affiliation to the health system, who require continuous and priority interventions.
These elements will benefit approximately 1,327 citizens, according to the epidemiological profile of the municipality of Vijes, distributed in 45% adults and elderly, 30% children and 25% citizens without health coverage. The distributed material will be used during the territorial visits of the health teams, contributing to improve the quality of life of vulnerable families.
Through this operation, the Colombian Aerospace Force reaffirms its commitment to social wellbeing and the strengthening of inter-institutional processes that contribute to the development of communities. The Institution's humanitarian support continues to be a fundamental pillar in the care of the most vulnerable in the national territory.
