Illegal flights have increased 100 percent over the past 20 days on the Caribbean route.

More than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride was found.

In a combined operation conducted by Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia, the Colombian Air Force, through the air defense system, detected the illegal Hawker 800 (H25B) aircraft leaving Venezuela to Central America, issuing the alert to the cooperating countries, which find more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride, with a commercial price of approximately US$ 33 million.

Thanks to the operational synergy of the Air Forces of Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia, it is possible to detect and track the illegal flight, which landed in Guatemalan territory, in the area of Pet茅n, near the border with Mexico. Guatemalan military forces promptly intervened and found the cargo.

In the last 20 days, there has been a 100 percent increase in illegal drug trafficking flights, which corresponds to 10 aircraft that have left Venezuela, using the Caribbean route to transport more than 10 tons of cocaine to Central America. The Colombian air force has ensured the airspace with its combat assets.

This year, the Colombian Air Force has contributed directly to the finding of 31,300 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, both in Colombia and in the Central American region and the Caribbean, thus weakening Transnational Organized Crime.
