In comprehensive maritime control and security operations, conducted by the Colombian Navy, the evacuation of two people, who suffered medical emergencies, was carried out in Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca.
The first emergency occurred when the administrator of a hotel, approximately 30 minutes by boat of the Special District of Buenaventura, requested support of the Naval Institution to evacuate a man who, apparently, was suffering from cardiorespiratory failure. Faced with this situation, a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR of the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station was quickly sent to transfer the patient to a medical center.
The second incident occurred in the village La Bocana, where the Police Station requested support to transport a minor who was suffering from an asthma attack to a health care center.
Both patients, accompanied by their relatives, were taken to the main dock of Buenaventura aboard the Colombian Navy units, where an ambulance was waiting for them and, later, the medical staff transferred them to the Luis Ablanque hospital in La Plata, where they received specialized care.
