As part of the comprehensive maritime security and control operations, units of the Colombian Navy carried out the evacuation of two women, who had medical complications and required specialized assistance.
The first case was reported in the village of La Bocana, Special District of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca, after receiving a request from La Bocana Police Station about a woman, who needed to be urgently transferred to a more complex medical center. Faced with the situation, a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR, of the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station, was immediately deployed, which arrived at the scene to transfer the patient to a health care center.
The second support was carried out approximately 13 nautical miles of the port of Buenaventura, when the ship named Oscar Enrique reported to the Naval Institution about the situation of a woman, who had respiratory difficulty, who was on board the boat. After receiving the call, the Colombian navy deployed a URR to the place, to carry out the evacuation of the woman.
Both patients, along with their companions, were taken by ambulances to the Luis Ablanque de La Plata District Hospital, in Buenaventura, where they are currently receiving specialized medical assistance.
