At the 'Casa del Abuelo' in the municipality of Icononzo, members of the Colombian Air Force arrived to share a day of joy and fun with the 34 members of this elders home, people full of love and wisdom that deep in their hearts carry the air institution.
During the activity some dynamic activities were carried out for them, which led to stimulate their senses and some physical skills. Music, dance and even singing by the elderly were part of the activities carried out that were supported by the Office of Social Management of the Mayor's Office.
The activity, in the same way, led to hearing of the elders’ great stories and anecdotes, knowing a little more about their lives, the places they visited, the most pleasant moments and the most loved ones.
A snack was shared with them and each one was given a present to complement the activity.
Older adults and elderly are human beings that cannot be forgotten by society, they must be taken into account as a fundamental part of the family and communities, so we must pay special assistance, take care of them, protect them, help them and accompany them in this important stage of life.
That is why the Colombian Air Force, through its activities and programs, promotes respect for the elderly and conduct the campaigns carried out to prevent mistreatment and abuse against them.
