This tactical unit stands out in the Department of Santander for its important achievements in support of civilians in different activities and requirements.
Soldiers of the Engineering Battalion No. 5 Colonel Francisco Jose de Caldas of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division of the National Army, received Lieutenant Colonel Juan Tarsicio Parrales Solarte as the new commander of this tactical unit, in the middle of a special ceremony and complying with biosecurity protocols.
The Officer comes from serving as commander of the Special Energy and Road battalion No. 22 in tame, Arauca and assumes the commitment to continue working for a safe region and of course, use each of the resources of the unit to improve and contribute to a better quality of life of the Santander families.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Marwin Aguillon Bravo, now former commander of the Unit, assumes as Engineers Officer of the Second Division of the National Army, where he will continue to work for the well-being of the communities of the Colombian East.
The Fifth Brigade of the National Army, through its tactical units, remains firmly committed to continue working for the community and to coordinate inter-agency efforts to continue working for the peace and consolidation of this region of the country.
