Financial structures of drug trafficking were weakened due to operations in Vichada

Estructuras financieras del narcotráfico fueron debilitadas tras operaciones en Vichada

With the aim of mitigating drug trafficking in the Vichada region, the Colombian Air Force, together with Colombian National Army and the Colombian Police, three joint and coordinated operations in the municipality of Cumaribo were carried out. These operations led to the finding and neutralization of three laboratories specialized in the production of coca paste base, damaging the financial structures of the illegal organizations operating in the area.

During the missions, 150 gallons of coca paste base in process, 190 gallons of diesel and 130 kilograms of lime were found by troops, among other elements used in the production of illicit substances. All these materials were put into custody of the authorities, who are carrying out the corresponding investigations.

These operations not only weakened the logistical and financial structures of criminal organizations in the region, but in the same way contributed to reducing the social and environmental impact generated by drug production. By dismantling these laboratories, the expansion of drug trafficking in Vichada was stopped and the State's activity was strengthened, promoting safer conditions for local communities.
