Troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No.51 José María Ortega, in the framework of military operations, found and disabled a laboratory used for the production of coca base paste in the village of La Unión, municipality of Calamar, Guaviare.
The troops found this illegal construction, which was part of a complex of illicit chemical substances belonging to armed groups that commit crimes in the southeast of the country. In the place were found by troops 4 plastic barrels of 200 liters with DIESEL, totaling 800 liters, 5 plastic barrels of 200 liters with processed coca leaf, 18 barrels of 20 liters of gasoline, for 360 liters, 218 kilos of coca leaf and different precursors for the elaboration of drugs.
It should be noted that this important blow to illicit activities represents a damage of approximately 90 million pesos per month, with a production and storage capacity of 30 kilos of coca paste base per month.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, the Jungle Brigade No.22 continues to carry out various interception tasks in order to comply with institutional objectives and neutralize all the criminal activities of the various illegal armed groups that attack the security of the Colombian people and destroy natural resources.
