Finding of more than two tons of cement in Antioquia

cogfm_incautacion_cemento.jpg

Antioquia. The 50 bags of gray cement, 50 kilograms each, were found at a fluvial control checkpoint, by troops of the Infantry Battalion No.16, the National Army and the Police, when inspecting a ship that sailed on the Atrato River, in the area of the municipality of Vigía del Fuerte, in the department of Antioquia.

At the time of the search, the certificate of possession of controlled substances usable in the production of narcotics was not presented. This document is issued by the National Narcotics Directorate and it regulates the transport of the material.

The 2,500 kilograms of cement, valued at 1,150,000 pesos, were put into custody of the Police Inspectorate of the municipality of Vigía del Fuerte. During the discovery, no arrests were made, nor the immobilization of the ship.

According to naval intelligence information, it is presumed that this material would be used by outlaw groups for the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
