Responding to the emergency call of the National Unit for Risk Management (UNGRD), the Colombian Air Force in a joint and coordinated operation with the National Army, Civil Defense and Firefighters of Yopal, lead the mission to extinguish the forest fire presented on Cerro El Venado.
The Colombian Air Force arranged a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter conditioned with the Bambi Bucket system, which has the capacity of 600 gallons of water per load, for this mission, 20 water drops were necessary on the main foci of the fire, in order to mitigate the scope of the flames in the different points of the hill El Venado.
To face this emergency, air and ground monitoring and control missions will continue to be carried out in the area.
