One of those arrested would apparently be responsible for executing on November 11, 2022, in the municipality of Arauca, Arauca, the murder of police officer Wilmer Rodríguez Colmenares.
The Military Forces in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operation through search warrants in the Monserrate neighborhood, of the municipality of Arauca, Arauca, arrested five individuals accused of belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, structure 10, Martín Villa, in the same action two minors were recovered.
According to the investigations, of the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, these individuals allegedly would have a criminal history of approximately six years in the organization and apparently would be related to crimes of manufacture, trafficking and carrying of weapons, they are accused of being in charge of carrying out criminal intelligence activities, collection of money from extortion, planning and execution of selective homicides in the department of Arauca; these people would have direct contact with alias Solín, main head of finance of the residual GAO, structure 10 Martín Villa.
At the time of the raid, these individuals had in their possession 5 pistols, a revolver, 11 pistol magazines, abundant ammunition and magazines for pistols, a submachinegun of Israeli origin UZI, with a magazine for the same and ammunition, mobile cell phones, 3 motorcycles and documents of importance for military intelligence.
The arrested and the war material were put into custody of the authority to continue with its prosecution process.
This result is part of the follow-up work carried out by the Military and Police intelligence to this criminal structure responsible for the flagrant violations of human rights and violations of international humanitarian law in the department of Arauca.
