An individual was injured at the scene, to whom first aid was provided by combat nurses.
In the framework of joint military operations conducted by Colombian National Army and the Colombian Air Force, in rural area, border of the municipalities of Bucarasica, Ábrego and Sardinata, Department of Norte de Santander, was neutralized the threat of four individuals, and one more was injured; they are members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln.
Thanks to military intelligence information, a group of individuals belonging to the Juan Fernando Porras Martínez front of the Eln was decocted. These men would be specialized to generate anxiety in the region with criminal activities such as collecting money from drug trafficking, extortions, operations against the inhabitants, attacks against the Military Forces, proselytism and recruitment of children and adolescents, among others.
This structure would apparently be responsible for the recruitment and training of young people, to form this group and attack the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
The wounded man was assisted on the spot by combat nurses in compliance with international humanitarian law and was taken to a healthcare center in the city of Cúcuta for higher-level medical assistance.
During the military operation, four rifles were found by troops, one of them with a sniper scope, abundant war materiel, military accessories, communications, explosives, and scarves and armbands alluding to the Eln.
