Future Air Accident investigators carry out their internships at CACOM 5

Futuros investigadores de Accidentes Aéreos desarrollan sus prácticas en el CACOM 5

Within the framework of the agreement signed by the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Pontificia Bolivarian University, the Air Combat Command No. 5 it is again the environment to carry out the field practices of the Basic Course of Air Accident Investigation and Contributing Factors.

 

The purpose of this meeting organized by the company Mas4 Consultoría and the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana is to strengthen the competences and skills of the students to know the procedures of the investigation of air accidents and incidents and in this way to be able to conduct the tasks of a researcher in charge of safety of the military operation in the aeronautical industry.

 

In the exercise, qualified security personnel of the military operation of CACOM 5, recreated the scene of a plane crash of a civilian helicopter HK 1234 S-76, having actors and everything necessary to realistically represent what happened.

 

11 students participated in this activity, who represented different institutions of the aeronautical sector in the country, such as support personnel of the Technical Directorate of Accident Investigation, Engineers, Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, personnel of private aviation companies and commercial dispatchers. The course is taught by instructors of the aeronautical industry with excellent experience in air accident investigation at national and international level.

 

This is the third consecutive year where the Colombian Aerospace Force has continued to support such programs that contribute to the safety management of the military operation and the prevention of air accidents.
