Gaula of Colombian National Army rescued two citizens in a rural area of Granada, Antioquia

Gaula del Ejército Nacional rescató a dos ciudadanos en zona rural de Granada, Antioquia

Through the modality of telephone kidnapping for false service, the criminals demanded 15 million pesos of the victims for their rescue.

Within the framework of the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho Plus, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente, attached to the Fourth Brigade, carried out in the Quebradona village, municipality of Granada, in Antioquia, the liberation of two citizens kidnapped, apparently, by members of a gang.

The rescue was carried out after receiving a call to the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) line 147, in which one of the victims stated that he was kidnapped along with another person.

Immediately, the Intelligence Unit, the Operations Unit and the Investigative Unit of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) conducted a reaction operation in the sector described by the victims.

The two people who made the emergency call were found by troops at the scene, who were provided with protection and first aid.

Later, the citizens were taken to the facilities of the Military Gaula Oriente, in Rionegro, where they are being evaluated by specialized medical personnel before being reunited with their families.

The modality of false service consists in supposedly job offers related to home chores, transportation, funeral services, energy or water services, among others. The criminals transport the victims to areas of difficult access and with poor telephone signal, and then demand money for their supposed rescue, giving a limited time to pay.
