Great capabilities to save lives in the southwest of the country

whatsapp_image_2019-03-24_at_9.23.46_pm_1.jpeg

During the last two days, more than ten tons of cargo have been transported, including medicines, hospital resources and oxygen concentrators, to the city of Pasto, in the department of Nariño, on a C-295 plane, to be distributed to nineteen hospitals that suffer this crucial moment, according to the report by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

The activation of this air-bridge, has led the military transport aircrafts to conduct permanent operations with their crews in large movements from CATAM, in the center of the country, to the departments hit by the closure of roads in this region responding to the needs of the health sector.

The men and women of the Air Force are a vital part of this humanitarian assistance mechanism, seeking to reach the destination in perfect conditions, therefore, the Air Combat Command No. 7 coordinates with the National Center for Personnel Recovery – CNRP and receives cargo, with the support of the Military School of Aviation.

In the same way, Black Hawk UH-60 helicopters in Angel configuration, are ready to follow the planned protocols, to conduct evacuations and aeromedical transfers of patients or people who require priority assistance in those zones.
