In a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colombian National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to deal a powerful blow to the financial component of the Amazonas Front, the criminal structure Jonier Arenas, with the arrest of five of its members in the departments of Boyacá, Guaviare and Amazonas.
The meticulous intelligence work and the follow-up of several months, led to the investigators, to identify those arrested as allegedly responsible for illicit activities, related to illegal income derived from extortion, drug trafficking and illegal mining on the lower Caquetá, Amazonas and the borders with Brazil, which would be addressed by alias "Alonso 45".
In addition, he is accused of homicide, forced displacement, recruitment of children on the territories of Puerto Santander, Mirití Paraná and La Pedrera, facts that were denounced by inhabitants and indigenous communities of these areas of the country.
These operations are part of the national operation against illicit activities and reflect the commitment of the Colombian State to security and legality throughout the national territory, especially in strategic areas such as the Amazonas, where these organizations take advantage of the geographical conditions of the place.
