High Mountain Battalion finds hideout with explosive and war material
The information provided by the Citizen Participation Network led the High Mountain Battalion No. 9, organic of the Ninth Brigade, to find an illegal hideout with explosives and war material, thus these elements won鈥檛 be used by members of the residual Organized Armed Groups, GAO r, which, from Caquet谩, seek to enter the department of Huila and strengthen themselves logistically.
In the hideout the soldiers found two plastic containers, each one with 25 kilos of explosive anfo, a sack with rifle powder and four magazines of 5.56 millimeters. Immediately, units of the Exde - Delta team intervened. After implementing the safety protocols into practice, they proceeded to neutralize the elements through the chemical destruction technique.
The military operation that took place in the hamlet Pando Roble of the municipality of Algeciras, in addition to counteracting the plans of the GAO r, benefits the rural population that could be hit by the accidental manipulation of this type of material.
