Nearly 3,000 beds and hospital furniture will be produced in the coming months by the Military Industry, Indumil, in the joint effort of the Defense Sector to support Colombians in the emergency caused by Covid-19.

Since the beginning of the contingency, Indumil, has provided its capabilities for the design, manufacture and repair of hospital elements, initially oriented to the Health Subsystem of the Military Forces, through a production line that leads to assembly 3,000 basic hospital beds, whose first prototype was approved and received today by the Central Military Hospital of Bogotá.

In the same way, the Military Industry distributed 42 trolleys to transport large and small oxygen cylinders to the same medical institution last week and began manufacturing other items such as tables and saline solution hangers.

Indumil in the same way initiated contacts with the National Apprenticeship Service – SENA- and universities in Antioquia, to Work to provide its capacity for 3D parts printing for the production of the first national mechanical respirators.

In this way, Indumil complements the efforts of other Defense Sector institutions such as the Science and Technology Corporation for the Naval Maritime and Fluvial Industry (Cotecmar) and the Police Revolving Fund (Forpo), which have arranged their capacity industry for the production and preparation of essential medical elements to face the emergency caused by COVID. 19.
