In joint, coordinated and interagency work conducted by the troops of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No.12 National Army of the Ninth Brigade, the Carabineros police and the Autonomous Regional Corporation of the Alto Magdalena, CAM, made the seizure of 662 Canes for the crime of illicit use of renewable natural resources.

The events occurred in the village El Socorro in the municipality of Pital, where the intelligence work of the troops of the National Army led them to seize first 112 canes, followed by the seizure of 550 more canes, found in the village of Bajo Sartenejo of the Municipality of Garzón in the department of Huila.

662 canes were seized in the two municipalities, which were put into custody of the Autonomous Regional Corporation of the Alto Magdalena, CAM, along with hectares of green areas that have been deforested in the last weeks in the department of Huila. However, inter-agency work leads to important seizures and operations, identifying those responsible for destroying several tree species.
