In different maritime control operations, the Colombian Navy Units intercepted two ships in which drug traffickers and criminals of a Residual Organized Armed Group transported 646 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, weapons, fuel and communications equipment.

The first event occurred near the Orpua River, in the department of Chocó, when an aircraft belonging to the Pacific Naval Air Group, of the Pacific Naval Force, carried out air patrols and detected a suspicious ship. The aircraft made overflights on the boat, noting that there were several sacks and fuel. The crew of the boat, noticing the presence of the aircraft made evasive maneuvers trying to flee, without success.

The military personnel of the aircraft forced the boat to go to the beach and discovered the drug and captured the three individuals of Colombian nationality, transporting them to the port of Buenaventura, in the department of the Valle del Cauca, where the authorities determined that the packages contained 646 kilograms cocaine hydrochloride.

Coastguard units recovered the ship and found 780 gallons of gasoline, communications equipment and information of great relevance. The individuals and the material were put into custody of the authorities.

According to naval intelligence information, it was established that the alkaloid, valued at more than 21 million dollars, would have left the Micay river, in the department of Cauca and was destined for Central America.

On the other hand, it was detected by an aircraft belonging to the Pacific Naval Force, in the sector of Isla Ají, in Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca, another ship manned by three individuals who, upon noticing the presence of the authorities, threw themselves into the water and escaped leaving the boat. During the inspection the troops found inside, a pistol Pietro Beretta 9 millimeters, a magazine for rifle, 41 projectiles and 157 cases of different calibers, which apparently belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group Jaime Martínez.

In less than a week, the Colombian Navy has confiscated 2,671 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, preventing nearly 89 million dollars from entering the drug trafficking organizations.
