During 2022, this military unit has neutralized the threat in a controlled conditions of 15 explosive devices and 26 antipersonnel mines in the Pacific region of Nari帽o.
In the course of an inter-institutional operation, the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, through its component of the National Army and with support of the Attorney General's Office, neutralize 120 kilos of explosives (ANFO) in the municipality Alto de Agua Clara in the District of Tumaco, Nari帽o, which belonged to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln, Jaime To帽o Obando company.
In military operation, troops of Rapid Deployment Force No.2 found these explosives that, according to military intelligence, would be used to attack the facilities of the La Florida military base and the Tumaco District Police Station.
The GAO Eln, under the criminal direction of its main ringleader alias Fercho, commits crimes mainly in the municipalities of Ricaurte and Samaniego, department of Nari帽o; these structures have been conducting confrontations against members of the Western Command of Farc dissidents over the territorial dispute and drug trafficking routes.
This result neutralizes GAO Eln's intentions to attack civilians in the region and the State's infrastructure.
