During the operation, an alleged member of the Arturo Ruiz structure of this organized armed group was in the same way arrested.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan and due to an arduous joint, coordinated and inter-institutional intelligence work conducted by the Omega Task Force of Colombian National Army, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find a war arsenal in the Potras del Quebradon village of the municipality of La Macarena, department of Meta.
During this search operation, 16 long-range firearms, 19 grenades, 4 grenade launchers of different models and calibers, 20 kilograms of shrapnel, 4 machinegun barrels, abundant ammunition, magazines and explosive material were found by troops.
An explosives, detonation and explosive ordnance team from the Rapid Deployment Force No. 12, following all established protocols, destroyed the explosive ordnance material in controlled conditions at the scene. The rest of the material found was taken of the site in an aircraft of Colombian National Army Aviation.
It should in the same way be noted that an alleged member of the Arturo Ruiz structure of the Jorge Suárez Briceño bloc was arrested when the search warrant operation was being conducted.
After the extraction of the material, an attack by members of this structure occurred on troops of the Omega Task Force, unleashing a combat in which the troops did not report any damage.
This material would be distributed by the aforementioned structure for the purpose of carrying out terrorist attacks against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
Through this operation, it was possible to directly neutralize the criminal plans of alias Calarcá, the main ringleader of this organized armed group, and his criminal operations in this area of southeastern Colombia are neutralized.
